Handling a picky eater is not new to most parents. Eating habits will always sound a frustrating topic for them. Yet, then and now, we should not forget the two facts as we deal with our choosy kids: 1) being picky is just a stage in our child’s development, that we (parent and child) both will overcome soon; and 2) Introducing healthy bites and recipes will make them curious of its taste, at all times.
As a mom, I have always been keen to whatever my child eats everyday. My daughter is 3 and a half years old (as I write this blog) and I admit that there are times when I also give her the food that her tongue craves, like luncheon meat, corned beef, and her everyday desire- fried chicken. However, it is not everyday that she can eat these “junk” foods, and whenever she sees these on our table, I make sure that she is taking such while eating healthier ones. How do I do it? Well, this is exactly what I will share.
Food Pairing has been my solution to my child’s diet. This includes my choice and hers, both served on the same plate, and she has to eat at the same time. Why do I recommend this strategy? Because with this style, I am able to make my daughter eat the nutritious foods that I want her to take every meal, and she is not deprived as well with what she wants.

These pictures i posted as i write this article, are some dishes I prepare for her and for all of us, each day. You might want to try these too, or better yet, mix and match your own dishes for a healthy diet everyday. Also add fruits at the side, even once in a while so they will get used to these as desserts, or appetizers, rather than the chocolate or a slice of cake.
